The experience

A station that fits a vertical neighborhood

Brickell events happen upstairs. Amenity lounges, rooftop terraces, private dining rooms and office floors give you a defined footprint rather than an open lawn, and a crepe station is built for exactly that: one compact cooking surface, a styled buffet beside it, and a line that keeps moving because every guest is choosing something while they wait. This page covers the Brickell side of the setup; the full service overview lives on the South Florida crepe station page.

Brickell planning

Permits, buildings and the questions to settle first

In Brickell, the paperwork usually comes from two directions at once: the City of Miami if any part of the event touches public space, and the property itself if it does not. Sorting that out early is what fixes your date.

Service area focus: Brickell, Miami-Dade County, Florida. This map identifies the city only and does not represent a VNV Events office or address.

Brickell sits inside the City of Miami

  • Brickell is a neighborhood of the City of Miami rather than its own municipality, so city-level requirements come from the City of Miami and county-level requirements from Miami-Dade County.
  • Events that use public property, streets, sidewalks, parks or the public right of way generally go through the City's special event permitting process. Start on the City of Miami special event permit page and the wider filming and events section.
  • Adding cooking equipment, a tent or another temporary structure can bring additional building and fire review into the process. Ask the City about your specific setup rather than assuming a small station is exempt.
  • Nearby public spaces have their own operators. Programming and space requests for The Underline, whose Brickell Backyard segment runs through the neighborhood, go through The Underline's own inquiry process.

Inside a tower, the building writes the rules

  • Most Brickell events happen on private property, where the association, property manager or venue decides what an outside caterer may do and when.
  • Expect to be asked for a certificate of insurance, vendor registration and a reserved loading dock or service elevator window before anyone confirms your setup.
  • Ask specifically where cooking equipment is allowed. Balconies, pool decks and areas under sprinklers are common exceptions, and finding out on the day is the expensive version.
  • Get the answers in writing. An amenity room that seats 60 guests may still limit vendors to a single elevator and a fixed load-in window, which changes the timeline more than the menu does.

VNV Events does not apply for, obtain or guarantee permits, building approvals or venue exceptions. Permitting and property approvals are the responsibility of the host, the building or your planner. We will give you the setup details you need to answer the City's or the venue's questions accurately, and event date availability is confirmed in writing rather than assumed.

Site logistics

What a live station needs from your Brickell venue

A crepe station is working cooking equipment placed where guests can see it, so a short walkthrough answers most of this before anyone signs anything.

Seven things to confirm

  • Covered cooking area. An indoor amenity room, a covered terrace or a tented section of a deck. Open, uncovered placement is the most common reason a station has to move on the day.
  • Power and placement. Identify the nearest usable power source and how far it sits from where the station will stand. We confirm the actual requirement with your venue instead of assuming what a circuit can carry.
  • Load-in path. Loading dock hours, service elevator reservation, valet or garage access, security check-in, door widths and the walking distance from the vehicle to the station.
  • Guest flow. Amenity floors are narrower than they look on a floor plan. Place the queue so it does not cut across the bar, the dance floor or the only path to the restrooms.
  • Service window. The two hours of live preparation can run as a late dessert moment or as part of the meal. Pick one before the timeline is built.
  • Building and venue approval. Ask the association, hotel or restaurant what documentation an outside caterer must file and how far ahead vendor approval has to be submitted.
  • Weather and wind. Rooftop terraces in Miami get heat, rain and wind, sometimes in the same evening. Decide the indoor or covered fallback position in advance.

Choices that make the station feel personal

Sweet direction

Build the three sweet fillings around fruit, chocolate and cream for a dessert-forward moment late in the night.

Savory direction

Use the three savory fillings so the station carries part of the meal, which works well for cocktail-format corporate events.

Event styling

Coordinate the buffet presentation with the colors and atmosphere of the room you are actually using.

Questions

Before you reserve in Brickell

How much does a VNV crepe station cost in Brickell?

The current published base price is $19 per guest with a 25-guest minimum. Delivery, taxes, upgrades, availability, venue requirements and final menu selections are confirmed in your written proposal.

Do we need a permit for a crepe station in Brickell?

It depends on where the event happens. Brickell is a neighborhood of the City of Miami, so events on public property, streets, sidewalks or parks generally go through the City of Miami special event permit process, and setups that add cooking equipment, tents or other temporary structures can require additional building and fire review. Private events inside a condominium, hotel, office or restaurant are usually governed by that property's own rules instead. Confirm your specific event with the City and with the venue. VNV Events does not apply for or guarantee permits.

Can the crepe station be set up on a condo amenity deck or rooftop terrace in Brickell?

Often yes, with building approval. Brickell towers usually control where cooking equipment can be placed, which service elevator or loading dock outside vendors use, and what insurance documentation a caterer has to file. Ask your association or property manager for those rules in writing before you commit to a date.

Are the crepes really made at the event?

Yes. The package includes two hours of live-chef preparation on-site, with sweet and savory crepes made in front of guests and served from a styled buffet.

What does the station need from our Brickell venue?

A covered cooking area, a safe power source close to the station and a clear load-in path from the loading dock, service elevator or drop-off point. Exact power and placement requirements are confirmed with your venue before the proposal is finalized rather than assumed.

How far in advance should we plan a Brickell crepe station?

As early as your venue allows. Date availability is confirmed in writing rather than assumed, and vendor approvals, elevator or loading dock reservations and any City of Miami permit review run on the property's timeline. Starting with the building or venue usually tells you which dates are actually workable.
