It depends on the property and the type of gathering. The City of Delray Beach requires a permit for special events held within city limits, and its published categories are commercial, community and athletic events. Applications are due 90 days before the event date, or 180 days for an impact event, along with a $150 deposit and a detailed site plan. A certificate of insurance, vendor business tax receipts, a final site plan, a tent permit and health or fire department inspections may also be required before event day where applicable. Confirm your specific event with the City's Office of Special Events. VNV Events does not apply for or guarantee permits.
City pavilions and gazebos are reserved through a Pavilion/Gazebo Permit Application handled by Parks and Recreation, and the City lists rentable pavilions at parks including Atlantic Dunes, Barwick, Bexley Trail, Eagle, Lakeview, Mike Machek Boy Scout, Orchard View and Pine Grove, plus Veterans Park and Pompey Park through their own site contacts. A rental reservation is not the same thing as a special event permit, and different parks route applications to different staff, so open both conversations before you commit to a date.
