It depends on the property. Events held on City of North Miami property, including park and facility rentals, go through the City's community event application process. That application asks the organizer for a certificate of general liability insurance with a minimum combined single limit of $1,000,000, notes that a separate tent permit is required for tents larger than 10 by 10, and states that any event at a City facility running after 11:00 p.m. will require police. Requirements change, so confirm the current version and your specific event directly with the City. VNV Events does not apply for, obtain or guarantee permits.
The City rents recreation centers, athletic fields and courts, and pavilions for meetings, reunions and special events, and states that a refundable cleaning deposit and insurance are required with each reservation. Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park, a 22-acre park on Arch Creek, lists two picnic facilities that can be rented for events. Before you commit to a date, confirm with the City whether onsite cooking by an outside caterer is allowed at that specific facility, and how the reservation and event approval timelines line up.
