The experience

A station guests watch, customize and remember

A crepe station turns service into something guests walk up to instead of wait for. Each person picks a direction, the chef cooks it on the spot, and the line keeps moving — which is why it works as a dessert moment or as part of the meal. This page covers the Tamarac-specific side of that setup; the full service overview lives on the South Florida crepe station page.

Tamarac planning

Facilities, shelters and the questions to settle first

In Tamarac, the venue type decides the paperwork. A City facility runs on a permit application and a contracted time block; a clubhouse or a private home runs on the association's or the owner's approval. Sorting that out early usually decides your date, not your menu.

Service area focus: Tamarac, Florida. This map identifies the city only and does not represent a VNV Events office.

City facilities and the Facility Use Permit

  • The City rents meeting and community rooms at the Tamarac Community Center, Tamarac Park Recreation Center and Tamarac Park Multi-Purpose Center. A completed Facility Use Permit Application and the applicable fees are what hold the room and the date, and scheduled City events take precedence over non-City bookings.
  • Reservations must include your set-up and clean-up time. Renters get one free hour to set up, and the room has to be cleaned and cleared by the end of the contracted time — so a two-hour live station plus load-in and breakdown has to fit inside the block you actually pay for.
  • Rental hours run 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, which matters if you were picturing a late dessert service.
  • A refundable deposit applies when food is served, alcohol is not permitted in City facilities, and decorations that damage surfaces are not allowed.
  • Rental details and the request form are on the City of Tamarac rental information page. Confirm current fees, hours and rules directly with Parks and Recreation.

Picnic shelters and outdoor setups

  • Small, medium and large picnic shelters are available at Caporella Park, Sunset Point Park, Tamarac Sports Complex and Tephford Park, daily from sunrise to sunset.
  • Shelters are reserved through the City's reservation system by paying the full rental fee plus a refundable cleanup deposit.
  • A shelter roof is not the same as a controlled cooking area. Wind, afternoon rain and the distance to usable power all change where the station can safely sit, so walk the shelter before you commit to an outdoor plan.
  • The City directs outside organizations planning an event in Tamarac to Parks and Recreation at (954) 597-3620 or Community Development at (954) 597-3530. Community Development's application forms include a Temporary Use Permit and a Food Truck Approval Application — ask which, if any, applies to your setup rather than assuming.

VNV Events does not apply for, obtain or guarantee permits or facility reservations. Approvals are the responsibility of the host, the venue, the association or your planner. We will give you the setup details you need to answer the City's or the venue's questions accurately.

Site logistics

What a live station needs from your Tamarac venue

A crepe station is cooked equipment standing in a guest-facing spot, so a short walkthrough answers most of it before anyone signs anything.

Seven things to confirm

  • Covered cooking area. Clubhouse interior, community room, covered terrace or a tent. Uncovered placement is the most common reason a station has to move on the day.
  • Power and access. Identify the nearest usable power source and how far it sits from the station. We confirm the actual requirement with your venue instead of assuming what a circuit can carry.
  • The clock, not just the guest count. If you are in a City facility, the contracted block has to absorb load-in, the two hours of live preparation and breakdown. Build the timeline backwards from the time you have to be out.
  • Load-in path. Gate or guardhouse notification in a gated community, parking distance, elevators, stairs and door widths between the vehicle and the station.
  • Guest flow. Place the queue so it does not cut across the bar, the dance floor or a main walkway — and so guests are not standing over hot equipment.
  • Venue and association approval. Ask the HOA office or the City what documentation an outside caterer needs, whether food service changes the deposit, and what the surface and cleanup expectations are.
  • Weather contingency. South Florida heat and afternoon rain both matter for an outdoor shelter or terrace. Decide the indoor or covered fallback position in advance.

Questions

Before you reserve in Tamarac

How much does a VNV crepe station cost in Tamarac?

The current published base price is $19 per guest with a 25-guest minimum. Delivery, taxes, upgrades, availability, venue requirements and final menu selections are confirmed in your written proposal.

Do we need a permit for a crepe station in Tamarac?

It depends on where the event is held. Booking a City of Tamarac facility requires a completed Facility Use Permit Application and the applicable fees, and scheduled City events take precedence over non-City bookings. Events in a private clubhouse, an HOA community or a private home are approved by the venue or the association instead. The City directs outside organizations planning an event in Tamarac to Parks and Recreation at (954) 597-3620 or Community Development at (954) 597-3530, and the Community Development application forms include a Temporary Use Permit and a Food Truck Approval Application, so confirm which approvals apply to your setup. VNV Events does not apply for or guarantee permits.

Can the crepe station be set up at the Tamarac Community Center or a City picnic shelter?

Those are City facilities, so the reservation runs through a Facility Use Permit Application. Reservations must include set-up and clean-up time, renters get one free hour to set up, and rental hours run 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Picnic shelters at Caporella Park, Sunset Point Park, Tamarac Sports Complex and Tephford Park are outdoor and available sunrise to sunset, and are reserved by paying the full rental fee plus a refundable cleanup deposit. Confirm current rules, fees and availability with the City before you commit to a date.

Are the crepes really made at the event?

Yes. The package includes two hours of live-chef preparation on-site, with sweet and savory crepes made in front of guests and served from a styled buffet.

What does the station need from our Tamarac venue?

A covered cooking area, a safe power source close to the station and a clear load-in path from parking. Exact power and placement requirements are confirmed with your venue before the proposal is finalized rather than assumed.
