Live pasta station catering for events in Pembroke Park, Florida

The cooking happens in the room. Guests build their own combination, a chef finishes each plate in front of them, and the line turns into part of the entertainment instead of a pause in it. The published station starts at $19 per guest with a 25-guest minimum and includes three pasta varieties, three sauces, two proteins, fresh finishing toppings, buffet setup and decoration, and two hours of live-chef service.

The station

One station that reads differently for every guest

Because each plate is assembled to order, a single station covers children, guests who want something lighter and guests eating vegetarian without three separate menus behind it. This page covers the Pembroke Park side of the setup; the full service overview lives on the South Florida pasta station page.

Where it fits in Pembroke Park

  • Community and clubhouse celebrations across the Town's residential communities
  • Milestone birthdays, quinceañeras, showers and anniversaries
  • Corporate socials, staff appreciation days and grand openings in the Town's business and warehouse corridors
  • Pavilion and backyard gatherings with a covered cooking area
  • Mixed-age events where one station has to satisfy very different appetites

Pembroke Park sits at the seam of Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, Miramar and the Miami-Dade line, so guest lists here are often split across two counties and arrival times spread out. A station that keeps serving for a fixed window handles that better than a plated seating. Suitability still depends on the venue, the power available and the approved setup area, all reviewed before the proposal is finalized. If you are coordinating for a client or a committee, the planner resources page covers how we work alongside outside planners.

Build the menu

Three choices shape the whole station

Selections are made conditionally against what is available for your date and confirmed in writing before the event.

Pasta selection

Choose three pasta varieties. Familiar shapes or filled pasta can be considered depending on the menu direction and what is available when you book.

Sauce selection

Choose three sauces and balance them so the station reads differently from one end to the other, typically one lighter and one creamier direction if those options are available for your date.

Proteins and dietary needs

Two protein selections are included. Vegetarian, vegan and allergy-related requirements should be raised during selection so they can be reviewed and confirmed in the proposal.

Pembroke Park planning

Permits, pavilions and the questions to settle first

On-site cooking is the detail that changes the paperwork. In Pembroke Park it is named directly in the Town's permitting triggers, so the answer often decides your date before your menu does. Use the points below as a starting checklist and verify current requirements with the Town for your specific date, location and event type.

Temporary Use Permits and on-site cooking

  • The Town of Pembroke Park requires a Temporary Use Permit for outdoor events that involve on-site commercial cooking or food sales — the exact category a live pasta station falls into.
  • The same requirement covers street closures, alcohol, large-scale temporary structures, and events needing coordination with multiple Town departments or outside agencies.
  • Indoor events or promotional activities that alter the approved use of a facility are also listed as needing a Temporary Use Permit.
  • The Town's special event application asks for a certificate of liability insurance and site-layout drawings, and directs applicants to the Building Department for structures and to the relevant state agency for temporary food service questions. Standby fire watch or rescue fees may also apply.

Town pavilions and park space

  • The Town lists outdoor pavilion and BBQ rental facilities at Behan Park and the Raymond P. Oglesby Preserve, with reservations handled by the Parks Department.
  • Ryan Park and the Preserve sit on the west side of Town, so parking distance and the walk from the vehicle to the pavilion are worth measuring before the station's placement is planned.
  • A pavilion reservation is not the same thing as approval for on-site cooking, vendors or a tent. Treat them as two separate approvals on two separate timelines.
  • Confirm both the reservation and the permitting question before you lock a guest count or send invitations.

VNV Events does not apply for, obtain or guarantee permits or approvals. Permitting is the responsibility of the host, the venue or your planner, and requirements, timelines, fees and conditions change. What we will do is give you accurate setup details — equipment footprint, cooking area, the station's stated power requirements and load-in needs — so you can answer the Town's or the venue's questions correctly the first time.

If a tent or temporary cover is part of the plan, raise it early alongside any separate building permit requirement. See tent and event rental options.

Site logistics

What a live station needs on site

These are the details that decide whether the station runs smoothly. Review them with your venue early, then confirm them in the written proposal.

Covered cooking and service area

Live cooking needs to sit under solid cover — a roof, a lanai, a covered terrace, a Town pavilion or a tent approved for that location. Open turf with no cover is the most common reason a station has to be repositioned on the day, and in a park setting that repositioning may not be permitted at all.

Safe, venue-approved power

Confirm with the venue or the Town what power exists at the intended station position and whether it may be used for catering equipment. The station's actual power requirements are stated in the proposal rather than assumed on site, and generators are treated as their own approval question at public locations.

Load-in path

Map the route from the unloading point to the station: gate widths, elevator access, stairs, curbs, grass runs and total distance. At the Town's west-side park space in particular, measure the walk from parking to the pavilion before setup timing is agreed.

Guest queue and flow

Leave room for guests to line up without blocking bar access, walkways, restrooms or the dance floor. For larger counts, plan the approach from one side and the exit from the other so the line keeps moving.

Service window

The package includes two hours of live-chef service. Fix the start time against the run of show so the station is not opened during toasts or a program block, and confirm any change to that window in writing. Where guests are arriving from both sides of the county line, set the opening around the realistic arrival curve rather than the invitation time.

Venue and Town approval

Some venues and community facilities restrict on-site cooking, open flame, equipment placement or vendor load-in hours. Get written confirmation that a live cooking station is permitted in the intended position, and keep that separate from any pavilion or room reservation you already hold.

Weather fallback

South Florida heat and afternoon storms are a planning input, not a surprise. Identify an indoor or covered alternate position for the station, check that the fallback position also has approved power, and agree in advance who makes the call and by when.

Coordination

Share the floor plan, timeline and venue or Town contact early so the station position, power and service window are settled before the final proposal. Contact the team with the details you already have.

Questions

Before you reserve

What is included in the pasta station for a Pembroke Park event?

The published station includes a choice of three pasta varieties, three sauces and two proteins, plus fresh ingredients and finishing toppings, buffet setup and decoration, and two hours of live-chef service. Final selections are confirmed in the written proposal.

How much does a pasta station cost in Pembroke Park, FL?

The current published starting price is $19 per guest with a 25-guest minimum for the main station. Delivery, taxes, upgrades and the final total are confirmed in the written proposal, and current pricing is shown on the product page.

Do I need a permit for a live cooking station in Pembroke Park?

It depends on the location and the event. The Town of Pembroke Park requires a Temporary Use Permit for outdoor events that involve on-site commercial cooking or food sales, which is the category a live pasta station falls into. The Town's special event application also asks for a certificate of liability insurance and site-layout drawings, and directs applicants to the Building Department for structures and to the relevant state agency for temporary food service questions. VNV Events does not apply for, obtain or guarantee permits or approvals; the host, venue or planner must confirm current requirements with the Town.

Can the pasta station be set up at a Town of Pembroke Park pavilion?

The Town lists outdoor pavilion and BBQ rental facilities at Behan Park and the Raymond P. Oglesby Preserve, with reservations handled by the Parks Department. A pavilion reservation is not the same as approval for on-site cooking, vendors or a tent, so treat them as two separate approvals on two separate timelines and confirm both with the Town before locking a guest count.

What does the station need on site?

Plan for a covered cooking area, a safe power source approved by the venue, a clear load-in path to the station position, room for a guest queue that does not block circulation, an agreed service window for the included two hours of live-chef service, and a weather contingency. Exact venue requirements are confirmed in the written proposal.

Can vegetarian, vegan or allergy needs be accommodated?

Dietary directions should be raised while selections are being made. Vegetarian, vegan and allergy-related accommodations are reviewed case by case and confirmed in the written proposal along with the final pasta, sauce and protein choices.
