Sorting that out early usually decides your date, not your menu. A pasta station is a live cooking station, which is exactly the detail those questions turn on.
VNV Events does not apply for, obtain or guarantee permits or venue approvals. Permitting and approvals are the responsibility of the host, the venue or your planner. Requirements and timelines change, so verify them for your specific date, location and event type. These are the details that decide whether the station runs smoothly on the day. Walk through them with your venue or association early, then confirm them in the written proposal.
The cooking and service area has to sit under solid cover: a clubhouse roof, a lanai, a covered terrace, a park shelter or a tent approved for that location. Open turf with nothing overhead is the most common reason a station gets moved on arrival.
Ask the venue or the association what power is available at the exact station position and whether it may be used for catering equipment. The station's actual power requirements are stated in the proposal rather than assumed on site, and generators usually trigger additional review at County facilities.
Map the route from the unloading point to the station: gate clearance, guard-house check-in, elevator access, stairs, curbs, grass runs and total distance. A long or restricted path changes setup timing and should be flagged well before the event date.
Leave room for a line that does not block the bar, walkways, restrooms or the dance floor. For larger counts, plan the approach from one side and the exit from the other so plates keep moving away from the pans.
The package includes two hours of live-chef service. Fix the opening time against the run of show so the station is not competing with speeches, the vals or a program block, and confirm any change to that window in writing.
Clubhouses and County facilities may restrict onsite cooking, open flame, equipment placement or vendor load-in hours. Get written confirmation that a live cooking station is permitted in the position you intend to use.
Kendall heat and afternoon storms are a planning input, not a surprise. Identify an indoor or covered alternate position for the station, and agree in advance who makes the call to move it and by what time.

West Kendall is unincorporated, so there is no city hall issuing event approvals here and the answer comes from Miami-Dade County, from the association that runs your clubhouse, or from both. A Miami-Dade Parks Special Events Permit applies to special events at County-owned park and recreation facilities, and tents or other temporary structures generally require Building Department permits with site plans and a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue inspection. VNV Events does not apply for, obtain or guarantee permits or venue approvals; the host, venue or planner is responsible for confirming current requirements with the County.
Park shelter and facility rentals are scheduled through Miami-Dade Parks, and smaller gatherings arranged as a reservation through the park manager or facility director are handled through that reservation rather than the special-event process. Being invited to complete a special-event application does not by itself mean the permit is approved, and because the reservation and the permit review move on separate timelines, confirm both before committing to a guest count or sending invitations.
In gated West Kendall communities the association typically controls whether outside caterers are allowed, the load-in window, gate clearance and what documentation a vendor has to submit in advance. Ask your association what is required and by when, and confirm that a live cooking station is permitted in the position you have in mind before the layout is finalized.
Plan for a covered cooking and service area, a safe power source approved by the venue for catering equipment, a clear load-in path to the station position, room for a guest queue that does not block circulation, an agreed service window for the included two hours of live-chef service, and a weather contingency.
